Which will make a better pet, male or female?
The only difference is a male lifts his leg and a female squats. There are so many misconceptions about males
and females.
Do only males leave their yard?
Some people think only males leave the yard and run off. Why do people think this? Because if a male is NOT
neutered and smells a female in heat he will go look for her. Notice all the ifs in this statement? Neuter the male,
problem solved. Female do also run. It depends on the dog and the training. My male mix breed will not leave his
yard. My female Great Dane will leave the yard to play with the neighbors dogs the moment my back is turned.
Are females more motherly?
No, again it depends on the individual dog. Females are motherly to their pups when they are nursing. Females
are the pack leaders and are more dominant over males. My male mix breed Lobo, loved to cuddle and care for
baby kittens, bunnies and birds. He thought they were his babies.
Which are easier to house train?
No difference again. House training depends on you. The more often you take your dog outside the quicker he will
catch on to housetraining. I have to say this. Who ever came up with the idea of rubbing a dog's nose in their own
mess if they potty in the house is an IDIOT! Dogs like to roll in smelly things. The only thing they don't like about it is
that you are pushing their head to the ground. Think about this. They lick their nose when you are done than they
lick your face. Yuck! They are not smart enough to understand that it was wrong. If you find an accident don't even
bother to show your dog, just clean it up. He won't understand that having to go potty was bad. If you catch him right
in the act just clap your hands, distract him and take him outside.
